To help plan your stay, below is a summary of Seattle area weather trends. Summers tend to be moderate, with only a few days breaking 90F periodically. From late April to mid-September, we generally have full sun or partially cloudy days. Winters tend to be gray and wet, with only a few days of snow or ice, and not much sunshine.
The Seattle area tends to be low humidity during the summer months, with only occasional 2-3 days of high humidity periodically. The nearby Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound stay cool all year, which prevents the atmosphere from holding onto dense, tropical moisture. You will rarely ever experience the heavy, "sweaty" air common in the Midwest or Southern United States.
However, wildfire smoke does hit our Seattle area during summer, usually starting about the end of July through September, but the severity of smoke depends on the prevailing wind patterns and other factors. Poor air quality days can range from an occasional few days, to several weeks.
The figures below are "averages," so some days are higher and some lower.
